    315 designates the type of stainless steel (amounts of Nickel and Chromium added to steel). Therefore you should use type 315 electrodes (rod) to weld it. 302 would be the lowest or poorest type of stainless, 327 a much higher quality. 316 is considered "food grade" and used in cooking and food preparation utensils.
