It is not unlike driving a car. It is very safe for someone who takes precautions, but for someone who doesn't know what they're doing, it's potentially deadly. The dangers can include burns, electric shock, inhalation of harmful fumes, and UV damage to the eyes and skin. These dangers can be easily avoided if the proper safety precautions are taken. A great deal of these safety precautions would seem to be common sense to the average person.
Welding is somewhat dangerous. There is risk of being electrically shocked or even burned. Also, there is risk of inhaling harmful chemicals. There are many precautions that can be taken in order to avoid these consequences.
