What do you use to weld aluminum?

I am modifying my air intake on my car and need to re-weld some pieces together, Ive never welded before, and dont have a welder. Can I use one of those torch welders? Or do I need one of those MIG of TIG or whatever they are called.

Well, when I was in school, with arc welding we used a rod that was for welding aluminum. But I tell you this: if you have never welded, I would not want to learn how to do it with car pieces. Its not simple like just drawing a line. You have to know what voltages to use on the welder for what kinds of metal, and how to melt the metal and weld a good bead. If you need welding done, have it done by a professional.
