Like most alloys, steel melts progressively. Iron alloys melt from about 723 degrees to 1550 degrees C depending on what the alloying material is (%). Steel then is a low carbon alloy with other metals added to obtain the desired properties, with a Carbon content less than 2.1% by weight.
Without knowing the alloy, I can only make an approximation which is 1410 degrees C.
