No it isn't equal parts tungsten and carbon, (50% tungsten and 50% carbon would create a very unstable alloy) although there are tungsten carbon blades, nickel-alloy, and carbon steel are used, but most industrial plants favor titanium nitride (carbon coated) for its hardness, also cheaper than tungsten.
