Mould is a container into which liquid is poured to create a given shape when it hardens, be it ferrous or non ferrous Also, all moulds need not be made using steel. It could be clay, sand or other and many releasing agents are used If you mean steel die set (mould) then, common steel surface treatment used is to hardening between 50 to 55 HRC
