what is the implication that the melting point of tungsten is over than 3000 C ?

I only know two uses of tungsten. One is for the filaments in incandescent light bulbs. The hotter they get, the more light they put out, so a high melting point is what you want. The other is in tungsten carbide, the hardest man-made material, used in cutting tools and bearings.
