Vanadic anhydride, vanadium pentoxide, a compound of vanadium and oxygen widely used as an oxidation catalyst, as in the oxidation of unburned hydrocarbons in automobile exhaust (see vanadium).

Health hazards: LD50:10mg/kg damage to the respiratory system and skin. Acute poisoning: may cause the nose, pharynx, lung irritation, eye contact, burning tears, pharyngeal itching, dry cough, chest tightness, performance malaise, burnout, severe bronchitis or pneumonia. High levels of skin contact can cause dermatitis and severe itching. Chronic poisoning: chronic exposure can cause chronic bronchitis, kidney damage, visual impairment and so on. Explosion hazard: This product is nonflammable and highly toxic.
